Get inspired by smart solutions as we talk about the upcoming Global Disability Summit (GDS), 2025 in our next Inclusion Café!
Background
The Global Disability Summit is a unique global mechanism with the goal of improving the lives of persons with disabilities worldwide. Its main aim is to bridge the gap between disability inclusion and development cooperation. It is known for particularly supporting initiatives from the Global South and being a great platform for showcasing innovative solutions that enhance the lives of persons with disabilities in different aspects of life.
Every two years, it brings together representatives from governements, international organisations, NGOs and Self-advocacy organisations, as well as other actors and stakeholders globally, to engage in discussions and secure commitments. The next GDS takes place on 2-3 April 2025 in Berlin and will be co-hosted by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) Germany, the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCD) in Jordan and the International Disability Alliance (IDA).
As we look forward to this great event, we invite you now to join us for inspiring sessions of dialogue and discovery as we explore the GDS and a preview of some innovative solutions that have been handpicked to be showcased at the summit. These solutions are receiving individualized scaling support from the Zero Project initiative and have been recognized for laying the groundwork for meaningful progress.
