Data for Disability Inclusion
Data and the disaggregation of data play a vital role in our development actions being truly inclusive of all persons with disabilities. This ever-relevant topic will be at the center of discussions at this year’s LIN Forum. We want to talk about the current data situation and the importance of disaggregated data, the challenges of data collection, ethical considerations, and how to put it into practice.
Our speakers and guests:
- Alexandre Cote, UNICEF, on the Global Disability Inclusion Report
- Daniel Mont, Center for Inclusive Policy, on standard methodology for quality disability data
- Sofía Minieri, Women Enabled, on the importance of intersectionality
- Liändrie Steffens, Data Scientist and Analyst, on Feminist Data
- Gbapéba Marc Analene, Fédération Togolaise des Associations de Personnes Handicapées (FETAPH), on an approach to data collection in rural Togo
- Carter Draper and Michael Otieno Osunga, Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team, on a drone project mapping informal settlements in Sierra Leone
Join us for a chance to exchange with the experts and the community on how to get or improve both quantitative and qualitative data and evidence for intersectional disability inclusion.
Please note: As always, we are aiming for FULL ACCESSIBILITY. Live captioning and international sign interpretation will be available during the event. If you need anything else to facilitate your participation, please don’t hesitate to get in touch at disabilitynetwork@giz.de.
