ILO-ENIL Report on Personal Assistance Services Worldwide

The International Labour Organization (ILO) and European Network on Independent Living (ENIL) co-produced a report on personal assistance titled “Towards Dignity and Autonomy: A Comprehensive Look at Personal Assistance Policies for Persons with Disabilities Worldwide”.

The report looks at nine different countries (Costa Rica, Thailand, Japan, Republic of Korea, Taiwan, Serbia, Bulgaria, England, Slovenia and Sweden) and how their systems are providing personal assistance services to persons with disabilities. With this global perspective, it details the structuring of the services, the working conditions of personal assistants, how they are trained and supported, and how they impact the rights and lives of persons with disabilities.
