For two decades, the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD) has set the space for disability inclusion worldwide. It redefines participation by anchoring the full and effective involvement of persons with disabilities at the centre of its framework – most notably in its general principles (e.g., Article 3) and throughout the Convention. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the UN CRPD, we have collected meaningful quotes from past interviews with representatives of Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) for our “OPD voices” segment of our newsletter, to honour those whose voices and actions continue to shape a more inclusive future!
