This episode of OPD Voices features the Advocacy for Women with Disabilities Initiative (AWWDI). As a nationwide OPD in Nigeria, AWWDI addresses issues impacting women and girls with disabilities, including gender-based violence, sexual and reproductive health rights, empowerment, political participation, advocacy as a foundation, and engagement with both government and non-government stakeholders to shape policies, programmes, and activities. Currently, AWWDI has about 130 groups across Nigeria, representing over 4,000 women with disabilities. They are preparing to expand into West Africa with a new strategic plan.
