“Celebrating Inclusion – Tools and Highlights from 2025” was the subject of the Living Inclusion Network’s final event of 2025 on December 10th. In March, we held an event on the risks to the future of disability inclusion, in light of various political developments worldwide. Now, at the end of the year, we want a more positive focus and to celebrate the progress we have made since then. Hence, we asked our members to submit short narratives and photos of what they were proud to have achieved or worked toward. We had also asked for tools that members had developed, piloted or used that they were particularly excited about and that may have helped achieve this progress.
It was a pleasure to receive so many contributions and see so many of you at our sharing event. We spoke with Dr Lorraine Wapling from Impel Consultancy Ltd, who described photovoice as an exciting and empowering methodology for research and advocacy on complex issues, and with Dr Thomas Ongolo from GIZ about the impending launch of a comprehensive toolbox on inclusive employment promotion for and with persons with disabilities.
We also welcomed Sarwat Sughra from GIZ Pakistan and Michael Odong from Sightsavers, who summarised their Accessibility Action Plan and provided guidance on reducing stigma in inclusive programming.
After that, we shared a beautiful collage of all the highlights in words and pictures that we received from you. It was a pleasure to spend time with you and hear from so many that we are still going strong and not giving up on promoting disability inclusion worldwide.
We thank all the members who shared their tools with us and inspired us with their stories. We are looking forward to continuing our work and seeing you all next year.
Find the recording of the event on our infohub page. All tools presented and shared by LIN members are available here.
